Join Together We Stand NC virtually in commemorating the death of Ahmaud Arbery, a Black man who was murdered while out on a run in Brunswick, GA on February 23rd, 2019. This run/walk will be held to honor his memory and encourage our participants and greater community to speak about the senseless violence against Black communities in America.
From February 20-26, 2022, Together We Stand will again host the Maud 2.23 event to shine a spotlight on racism and injustice and to unite toward hope in the future.
The 2022 Maud 2.23 is presented by HOKA, CEP Compression, Fleet Feet Sports, Together We Stand NC, Omega Sports, and LockLaces.
Registration is $25 and includes a Maud 2.23 LS shirt. All registered runners/walkers also receive a chance to win prizes including free running shoes from HOKA, CEP Compression socks, and LockLaces. Your 2022 Maud LS tee will be shipped to you.
Together We Stand NC has decided to funnel the donations from all virtual events and t-shirt sales to the Ahmaud Arbery Foundation.
Ahmaud Arbery was just like you and me. He loved his family, he was an avid runner and he cared deeply about his community in Brunswick, GA. On February 23rd, 2020, Ahmaud was tragically shot and killed while he was out on a jog in his neighborhood.
Our work to honor Ahmaud’s legacy continues. We believe that Black boys, like Ahmaud, often lack resources and access to mental wellness. By aligning Ahmaud’s legacy with mental wellness in our communities, we can create brighter futures and opportunities.
When you register, you are committing to running or walking 2.23 miles during the week of February 18-26, 2022 and we encourage you to share your run/walk with your friends and family to engage in a conversation about race.
We invite you to join us for Maud 2.23 virtually and we ask that you remember and honor Ahmaud Arbery as We Run as ONE.
