Event Description
Join us on March 12th for the first annual LEPRECHAUN DASH - YMCA 5K / 10K RUN FOR CHATHAM KIDS.
On what will be a fun and challenging course, you'll celebrate St. Patrick's Day and raise money for Chatham kids. Whether you're tuning up for a Spring half marathon like Tobacco Road or just want a good goal for a New Year's Resolution, this race is for you. Prizes will be had for age groups as well as the best Leprechaun attire. No matter what, don't forget to wear green.
You'll race through the new Chatham Park where you'll find a fast downhill finish. From the Chatham YMCA, you can easily walk to a number of downtown Pittsboro restaurants or breweries for lunch or brunch.
THE CAUSE
All funds raised for the race go to support Chatham Kids through YMCA after-school and camp scholarships. Annually, the Chatham YMCA seeks to provide $100K worth of scholarships for child care and youth-oriented programs where they build people through outdoor activities, sports, and leadership development.
THE FEES & REGISTRATION
Both races will have a fee of $50 with a discounted rate of $40 before February 1st. Included in your fee is the Hipster Leprechaun T-Shirt and support for a great cause. Fees will be processed on the YMCA website. Instructions provided during the registration process.
THE TSHIRT
Every participate registering before March 1st will receive a Hipster Leprechaun t-shirt. PREVIEW COMING SOON.
THE COURSE
Runners will start at the Chatham YMCA. The start will proceed down Thompson St. At Fire Tower Rd. runners will follow greenway, sidewalks, and shoulders. The 5K and 10K will share the course with 5K runners turning around a bit sooner.

WALKERS
Want to walk either course? You're welcome to. We plan to keep our timing setup until at least 11am. We just ask that you follow sidewalks and cross roads safely at cross walks and street corners. We can not guarantee police presence past 10:30am.
STROLLER AND PET POLICY
Baby strollers/joggers are permitted, but for the safety of all participants please start at the back behind the runners and walkers.
Pets are not allowed on the race course.
