Event Description

Run the Pier 5K (RTP5K) is an annual foot race and fun run held in Downtown Manistee. The race takes participants out and onto Manistee’s north pier and around its iconic lighthouse as part of a 5K. Annual participation brings 300 plus athletes to Manistee from out of town. RTP5K is held the second Saturday in August. In 2023 the race will be held on August 12th. 

RTP5K was founded in 2018 as a method of raising funds for local  non-profits such as Stomp out Cancer, the Manistee County Child Advocacy Center-, and City of Manistee Public Safety Training.  In 2021 the non-profit Run the Pier Foundation was dissolved, and operational responsibility was placed in the hands of NOMI. NOMI remains committed to the mission established by the original roots of RTP5K. Elements of the original foundation remain involved with the race and establishing the annual beneficiary.
