Event Description

BRAN 40.2 “Nebraska - Best By Bicycle” will begin the week long ride in Alliance, Nebraska on June 5, 2022. Riders will check in on Saturday June 4th. The route will follow portions of Scenic Hwy 2 through the Sandhills, near the Nebraska National Forest, Arnold Canyon, Democrat Hill , Popcorn Country, Loup and Platte River Valleys and other beautiful scenery. The other overnight host towns include Hyannis, Thedford, Callaway, Ord, Saint Edward and Shelby.  The ride will end in Wahoo on Saturday, June 11, 2022. Riders have the option of parking a vehicle during the week of the ride in Wahoo and taking a bus from Wahoo to Alliance on Saturday, June 4, 2022 for an extra fee.

We will again offer a 3, 4 or 7 day ride registrations.

The ride is fully supported with SAG stops approximately every 10 to 15 miles with water and treats (included in your entrance fee), roving SAGs driving the route to help/pick you up in situations where riders cannot continue due to mechanical or personal reasons, free showers, bicycle mechanic support, contracted sleeping service (tents and shuttle service), free coffee, medical staff, weather monitoring and evacuation assistance, campground director for rider services, and host communities who compete to provide the best experiences for our riders by feeding and providing experiences not found in any other ride in the state.

BRAN is a bicycle ride designed for recreational riders who want a family atmosphere of camaraderie and community.  We limit our numbers to no more than 600 and you will know most other participants by the end of the week, if not by name, at least by face and/or bike.

Bicycle Ride Across Nebrasa, Inc. is a nonprofit organization and the ride is run completely by on-the-route volunteers. Proceeds from the ride provide scholarships to the towns who host us.  Each community will receive a scholarship for a high school senior to attend a Nebraska trade school, college or university or higher education. The host town voted as the "Best Host Town" will receive an additional scholarship. Give back and pay it forward by choosing to ride BRAN 40.2 in June 2022!
