Event Description
To celebrate one of the most prestigious 100K footraces in the world, we're bringing a little piece of that desert gold to you! Inspired by the iconic in-person event, Tour De Black Canyon is your chance to rack up miles, get some course intel, learn about the area, and simply immerse yourself in the Black Canyon Ultras experience from afar. Our virtual experience will be 3 weeks long as we build up to the in-person event, run through race weekend, and then bring it all together in a "you are there" weeklong journey with your Master of Worldwide Shenanigans. But the fun isn't just about the miles!
Each week during the event, runners will be guided on their journey through the Black Canyon 100K course by receiving a weekly email detailing sections of the course in roughly 15-20 mile sections. In addition, there will be weekly contests to win prizes. These check-ins will include photos from the race course, and much more to give you a fully immersive experience from wherever you are in the world. And then, during the last week, you'll get the full deal. As close to being there as possible - but from where you are. We are Aravaipa WORLDWIDE!

A Journey Unlike Any Other
Tour De Black Canyon is a fully immersive virtual event designed to take runners on the journey of one of the most iconic 100K foot races in the world, the Black Canyon 100K. Join us on this 3 week journey as we take you through some of the most scenic and beautiful places central Arizona has to offer, while showcasing areas along this iconic course.

Every participant in the 2023 Tour de Black Canyon will receive a soft and comfy shirt, a Black Canyon oval sticker, and a hand crafted commemorative medal courtesy of Aravaipa Artworx.

Uploading Your Results - Best Practices
Entering your results into the Run Signup dashboard is a very user friendly process. The easiest way is to manually enter your run time, distance, and vert in the Run Signup results portal. You should also be able to upload a .tcx file into the dashboard as well, however different platforms will read the file differently which may cause you to lose vert. To ensure fairness and fun-ness please do your best to follow the best practices listed below.
Please enter your activities frequently. In order to get the most out of this experience, to see your spot on the race leaderboard, and to unlock these amazing badges, we encourage you to enter your results every day.
Keep evidence of your activity. If you want to be considered for any awards during this event, you must have proof of your activity. This can be as simple as sharing your Strava activity links for your runs, or taking a photo of your treadmill screen if you are running indoors. I will reach out to you if I need to see evidence of your activity. Otherwise- we are operating on an honors system-- so be honest :).
ALL RESULTS MUST BE SUBMITTED BY 11:59p.m. Arizona Time on February 26th. Please get your results submitted early. If you are having any tech issues at any point during the event please reach out to me. If you don't have your results submitted into the Run Signup Portal by 11:59 p.m. on February 26th, those results will not count. No exceptions.
