Event Description

Our goal is to advise, raise awareness, and provide aid in finding resources to prevent and support Colorectal Cancer. The rising statistics on the effects of Colon Cancer in the  African American community, raises the need for Colon Cancer Awareness. According to the American Cancer Society, African Americans are 20% more likely to be diagnosed with colon cancer and are 40% more likely to die from the disease than any other race. It's important that adults are screened for Colon Cancer as early as age 45, as there has been an increase in the number of individuals under the age of 50 being diagnosed with this disease. One way to reduce this number is early cancer screenings through colonoscopies. Your donations will assist those who are directly affected by this disease. During the month of March, we will walk, run, or cycle a total of 45 miles to support the age of early cancer screening. Join us as we walk to make a difference.
