WE RUN FOR THE KIDS-If you're looking for a race where 100% of the proceeds are used to benefit children, you found it.
Kiwanis of Mitchell funds programs for children in Mitchell, surrounding communities, and around the world. Proceeds from the #PCKH are used to fund programs such as Girls on the Run, Kiwanis Woodlot Park, Bike Safety event, scholarships, youth baseball, youth soccer, and more. The proceeds from this race will go to an all-inclusive, accessible playground addition to the Kiwanis Woodlot Park!
To celebrate the 5th year of the Palace City Kiwanis Half Marathon we are offering FOUR race options in 2022! We have added a 10K and 5K race along with the options of the traditional Half Marathon and we still have the option to grab your running bestie and run our Half Marathon Relay. All 4 races will receive a medal and a shirt.
Half Marathon-The #PCKH course begins with a loop through the city streets of Mitchell and then brings you past the start line in front of the World's Only Corn Palace, where you'll be cheered on by spectators, friends and family before heading out to circle beautiful Lake Mitchell. There will be water stations approximately every two miles with multiple portable toilets along the entire route.
Prizes awarded to the Half Marathon Runners only, to the top 3 male and female finishers as well as top person in each age group.
Half Relay-That's right... a Half Marathon 2-person Relay! The route for the half marathon relay is the same as the individual half marathon. The first runner will begin in front of the World's Only Corn Palace. The second runner will be bussed from the Corn Palace to the half-way point of the race. Due to the limited space at the half way point, all runners will need to be bussed. Thanks in advance for your help and cooperation!
The Relay is Limited to 20 teams.
Added this year a 10K! The route for the 10K will be the same route as the second half of the half marathon. The route will start at the beach and circle beautiful Lake Mitchell. The runner will be bussed from the Corn Palace to the start point of the race (which is also the relay exchange). Due to the limited space at the start area, all runners will need to be bussed. Thanks in advance for your help and cooperation!
Also added this year is a 5K! The route for the 5K will start in front of the Corn Palace and loop through the city streets of Mitchell and bring you past the start line in front of the World's Only Corn Palace, where you'll be cheered on by spectators, friends and family, you will head north to 15th street where the turn around will be and head back to the finish in front of the Corn Palace.

Packet Pickup is from 4 to 6pm at the Corn Palace on Saturday, October 1st.
Race day packet pickup is available at the Corn Palace from 6 to 7 am.
People are encouraged to wear masks for packet pickup and day of race.
All race registrations are final. Tshirt will be long sleeve, unisex SportTek brand, No extra shirts ordered this year, please take that into consideration when ordering sizes as we will not be able to exchange sizes.
