Event Description
About this group
When the pediatric oncologist walked in we knew she had news we weren't prepared to hear.
Our son, Indy, was diagnosed with Stage 3 Wilms tumor at 3 months. We felt that we should do our part to raise money for childhood cancer research and for families affected by childhood cancer. This is why we created the Indy Races.
According to the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation, only 4% of the billions of dollars that are annually spent on cancer research and treatments are directed towards treating childhood cancer.
Our event will be in-person this year, with a virtual option. The Indy Races will take place at Lake Shawnee, on the 17th of September (Childhood Cancer Awareness Month).
There will be a 1-mile, 5K, 10K, or race around the lake (6.5 miles) option.
You can walk, run, or jog your selected distance for a chance to win $1000*, $500*, $100*, $50*.
If you do the virtual option You can walk, run, jog, bike, or swim the following options ANYWHERE - inside, outside, at the gym, or even on a treadmill!
If you want to donate to this great cause and not participate in a race please do so. Every dollar makes a difference!
Thank you in advance!
