The San Diego Tri Classic and Rock the Bay have joined forces to continue both races at the beloved Liberty Station location.

The only Triathlon in Historic Point Loma featuring Olympic & Sprint Distances 

This will be a USAT Sanctioned Triathlon, Duathlon, and Aquabike!

The Moment Bicycles San Diego Tri Classic Rocks the Bay invites you to an epic day living the active lifestyle!

Same location and great course as the Original San Diego Tri Classic!! Taking place in historic Point Loma with the swim in the beautiful calm San Diego Bay. This event has a beach entry and a unique stair exit, and bike course offers a challenging and hilly route as racers ride through the Naval Base at Pt. Loma to the lighthouse and ends with a run along NTC Park at Liberty Station. This Triathlon is Southern California at its best. The bay swim is supported by lifeguards and swim buddies. Come join us for the Sprint or Olympic Distance Triathlon.

Distances

Sprint Triathlon (13yrs & older): 750 meter swim - 22K bike - 5K run

Sprint Duathlon (13yrs & older): 1 mile run - 22K bike - 5K run

Sprint Aquabike (13yrs & older): 750 Meter swim - 22K bike (Your finish time is at the transition area after completing the bike portion, then head over to the finish line to return your timing chip and join the party!)

Sprint Aquathlon (13yrs & older): 750 Meter swim - 5K run (Not eligible for SDTS Points at this time)

Olympic Triathlon (13yrs & older): 1500 meter swim - 40K bike - 10K run

Note: There is also a relay category for the International Triathlon distance only (no SDTS points awarded)

International Aquabike (13yrs & older): 1500-meter swim -  40K bike (Your finish time is at the transition area after completing the bike portion, then head over to the finish line to return your timing chip and join the party!)

All distances award points for the San Diego Triathlon Series!

Pre-Race Check-In & Packet Pick-Ups (Must attend one)

Pre-Race Check-in Policies:  
  1. All athletes must attend pre-race check-in to pick up their race materials on Friday. All relay members must be present to receive the packet, or we will split up the relay packet for each participant. 
  2. It is mandatory for all athletes to bring their ID to the pre-race check-in. We will not give any athlete their bib number without an ID. 
  3.  You must sign the waiver(s) online to get race materials.  
  4. You will also be required to show proof of USAT annual membership or purchase a one-day membership (if you haven't already purchased a one day with us through registration).
  5. Friends and family members will NOT be allowed to pick up for an athlete. Sorry, NO EXCEPTIONS.  These events are USAT sanctioned, and USAT doesn't allow anyone besides the participant to pick up race materials.
  6. Athletes who don't attend Friday (and have not selected the VIP Option) will be required to pay a $10 late fee on race morning in order to pick up race materials.

6:15 a.m.   International Triathlon Waves Begin

7:15 a.m.   Sprint Duathlon Begins

7:20 a.m.   Sprint Triathlon Waves Begin

8:30 a.m.   Beer Garden Opens

9:30 a.m.   Transition Reopens - Please be considerate of participants still competing.

10:00 a.m.  Sprint Awards Ceremony -  Time Approximate

10:30 a.m.  International Awards Ceremony - Time Approximate

12:00 p.m.  Beer Garden Closes - Last call at 11:00 a.m.

12:30 p.m.  Transition Area Closes. All bikes must be removed


VIP Option

For a fee of $40 -  your race numbers, swim cap, timing chip, and t-shirt will be ready for your pick-up on race morning. Pre-race check-in is not mandatory; you will check-in on race morning at the VIP check-in table. Pick-up is from 5:00 am-6:05 am. You will then continue to the transition zone to be body marked. Please plan your time accordingly. VIP athletes have reserved bike racks with their names in the transition area. Entries must be received by September 4th. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Disclaimer & Refund Policy

The racecourse and timeline can be changed at the discretion of the race organization. All distances are approximate by GPS measurements. The race can be altered, postponed or canceled with no refunds. Also, no refunds due to weather, natural disturbances, police activity, acts of terrorism, and threats of terrorism.

Refund Policy:

Due to the number of race transfer requests and cancellations that occur in the weeks prior to a race, we have the following policy that is in accordance with USAT Policy.  Refunds will NOT be issued after a registration has taken place. Considerable effort goes into producing an event, and funds are expended and applied in good faith based on a registration.  If you would like to change your registration from one distance to another, you will be charged for the difference in price at the time of the change
