Nik's Run for Addiction Awareness is a 5k Run/Walk to raise awareness of our country’s epidemic. More than 100,000 people have passed away from drug overdoses in the last year, approximately 136 people a day.* Addiction is a NOT a moral issue, nor is it prejudice. Addiction is a primary, chronic, relapsing brain disease.* Our goal is to spread awareness by addressing, preventing, and treating addiction.
*Information from the CDC.
The 5k course travels along the beautiful Oklawaha Greenway beginning and ending at Patton Park's small pavilion, in Hendersonville, NC. This is a relatively flat, fast, out and back course.
