Event Description

Harry Cummins, owner of the International Boxing Club who recently won a national title for masters boxing in Las Vegas, provides boxing-type classes that have been proven to help people with Parkinson's slow the progress of the disease and in some cases improve their quality of life.  He doesn't charge the participant's anything for his programs; the money raised through functions such as this 5K Run/1 Mile Walk help him pay the bills for the Club in order to offer this very valuable service free of charge to > 100 people with Parkinson's.

The race is named in honor of Dick O'Brien who was a very active participant in the KOPD classes.  Mr. O'Brien asked to be buried with his boxing gloves when he passed away several years ago.

T-shirts will be available for participants who register in advance of the race; t-shirts will also be available while supplies last on race day; no guarantees on t-shirt size availability on race day.

The real prize(s) are full-size, authentic championship belts that will be awarded to the Top (3) Female and Male participants.

The cost to enroll is $25/person in advance, $30/person on the day of the race.
