Event Description

Join Greenlight Operation on May 21, 2022, at City Island, Harrisburg, PA, for our 2nd annual 5K to raise support for our Restoration Home Project! This year, we certified our race so runners can compete for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place medals based on sex and age group. Participants can also register for the fun run following the certified 5K if they don't desire to compete. We're also excited to announce that the race will take place on City Island for the first time! Our goal is to raise $20,000 for our Restoration Home Project.

Why are we hosting a 5K fundraiser?
Since 2007, over 150,000 victims of human trafficking have been identified in the United States. Of those identified, the vast majority of victims are women and girls who were coerced into sex trafficking and, once extracted, often lack trauma-informed services and long-term housing for their recovery.

Currently, we're in the process of establishing a long-term restoration home for sex trafficked women in the greater Harrisburg area, and are hosting the Run for Restoration 5K on May 21 to increase awareness about human trafficking and raise funds for the Restoration Home Project.

Funds will go toward purchasing the restoration home property, hiring residential staff, and developing the residential program.
