Event Description
Hello and welcome to Kansas City Pig Rescue Network's first annual Hog Jog and Volunteer Day! 100% of proceeds will go towards the rescue pigs of KCPRN. All participants will receive a special shirt (you MUST sign up by 6 May in order to get a shirt). In order to suit everyone, we have three options to choose from in order to participate:
Option 1: walk or jog through 1.5 marked miles of pasture, woods and open field. Animals you may encounter along the way include horses, donkeys, a llama, pigs, goats, mules, chickens, turkeys, dogs and cats. Note the terrain is rough so be careful and wear the right shoes! Entry fee includes your very own seedling tree to plant at the farm or take home. NOTE: FENCES ARE ELECTRIFIED, PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH!
Option 2: spend your time volunteering and prepping the farm for summer. Duties include filling pools, barn & fence repair, poop scooping, painting, feeding, general maintenence and pig snuggles of course! If you have any medical restrictions just let us know and we'll find the right chore for you. Entry fee includes your very own seedling tree to plant at the farm or take home. NOTE: FENCES ARE ELECTRIFIED, PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH!
Option 3: Don't live in the area but still want to support the pigs? Jog the 1.5 miles at your own pace wherever you are in the world, walk the dog, go for a hike, ride your bicycle, do some gardening or just enjoy the sunshine with a cup of coffee.
Kansas City Pig Rescue Network is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and permanent placement of pigs in Kansas and Missouri. Our mission is to Protect, Advocate and Educate, ensuring each pig finds their forever family.
Kansas City Pig Rescue Network INC was officially founded in early 2017 and attained our 501c3 non-profit status in September of 2018. In our first few years, our team has worked together to rescue, rehabilitate and find loving homes for over 400 deserving pigs.
We are a foster based organization with two foster farms, Willeyville Farm in Cleveland Missouri and Circle A Farm in Winston Missouri. We love to welcome visitors and volunteers by appointment, to provide education and hands on experience with these very special beings.
