Event Description

Join us for the 44th Annual Mid-Hudson Road Runners Club Dutchess County Classic. This event takes place on the William R. Steinhaus Dutchess Rail Trail and incorporates the Walkway Over the Hudson.

2022 events will include a Half Marathon, 10k as well as a 5K.  There will also be a kids 1k timed fun run on Saturday.  Please note that pre-registration is strongly encouraged, there will be limited race day registration.  For those who do not wish to register online, there will be in-person registration at Fleet Feet from 9/11-9/16.  You may also register in-person at bib pickup on Saturday from 10am to 4pm at DCC Falcon Hall.

The flat, off-road, scenic courses are great for seasoned athletes and first timers alike. Showcasing the beauty of the Hudson Valley, including gorgeous Hudson River views. Each race is professionally timed on a USATF certified course.  There are t-shirts for pre-registered runners and finisher medals for the half marathon.

Start Location & Times

The kids 1k race will be held on Saturday, 9/17, at DCC.  The start time for the kids race is 10am.  MHRRC kids who are pre-registered always run for free.  The course will be on DCC campus and has not yet been laid out yet.

Our 5k course has been redesigned to be a point to point from the west approach of the Walkway in Highland to the finish line at DCC.  Runners can opt to park at DCC and take a bus from DCC to Highland for a 7:30am start.  Please plan to arrive early.  There is no transportation to the start of the 5k after the race.

The half marathon and 10k will start and end at Dutchess Community College (53 Pendell Road, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601).  Due to the large volume of runners expected, area road closures and the likelihood for congestion during parking, it is recommended that you arrive at the race at least an hour before your race start time even if you already have your bib.

All three races will start at 7:30am.

Courses:

The 5k starts near the iron gate of the Walkway in Highland.  Runners will run straight and exit the trail at the Morgan Lake trailhead , run on Creek Rd for about half a mile to finish at DCC.

The half marathon and 10k will start and end at Dutchess Community College (53 Pendell Road, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601).  Both the half & 10k will enter the Hudson Valley Rail Trail via the Morgan Lake Trailhead and will include an out & back over the Walkway Over the Hudson.  The 10k will finish covering exactly the 5k course.  Yep, you got it -- the 5k start is the 10k and half marathon turnaround.  The half marathon will continue straight at Morgan Lake and do an out and back from there to the end of the overpass on Manchester Rd and then finish along Creek Rd. to DCC.

All courses are USATF certified.

Giveaways & Prizes:
There will be giveaway shirts (image to be released once available) for all kids, 5K, 10k and half marathon participants who register before Sunday, August 15th.  Half marathon and 10k participants will receive finisher medals.  Prizes will be given for the top 3 finishers in each age group (10 year age groups).
