Event Description
Run From the Sun 5k is a run and walk that raises awareness for melanoma (skin cancer). All funds from the race will be donated to the Melanoma Research Foundation to help find a cure for skin cancer which effects 9,500 people in the world every day. The creator of the race had her own experience with melanoma at age 15 and used her passion for running and her cancer survival story to establish the first Run from the Sun 5k in Douglasville, Georgia. The race is located at Douglas County High School (DCHS) and starts on the DCHS track. It is open to all ages and we encourage all participants to wear orange for skin cancer awareness. There will be music, games, and lots of fun, so we hope to see you there to support a good cause!
