Event Description

Who do you ride for? A friend or family member who has survived cancer? Or maybe it's a loved one who is no longer with us. Whatever your reason may be, please join us on Saturday, September 10th, 2022 for the annual Pedaling for Payson cycling event at Elm Brook Park in Hopkinton, NH!

This community event attracts over 300 cyclists who help to support Concord Hospital Payson Center for Cancer Care. Monies raised are used to provide our most vulnerable patients with a nurse navigator. The nurse navigator is a staff member, a "professional family member", dedicated to helping cancer patients find the medical, community, and financial support they need quickly, which in turn, helps to calm the patient’s anxieties related to their treatment.  No one should have to experience cancer alone and by participating in the Pedaling for Payson event, you are helping to ensure that patients at the Payson Center have access to the Nurse Navigator program.

Pedaling for Payson has raised over a million dollars thus far in support of the Gene Gillis Fund, specifically supporting patients in need at Concord Hospital Payson Center for Cancer Care. The Fund covers out-of-pocket expenses such as gift cards for gas, groceries, nutritional supplements, and other items to improve quality of life for patients battling cancer. In 2017, the Pedaling for Payson Committee created the Pedaling for HOPE Fund to go a step further and provide additional funds to support the Payson Center's HOPE Resource Center, which includes programs such as support groups, therapeutic massage, Reiki and more.
