Join GO! St. Louis and Great Rivers Greenway on third Thursdays this summer for a group run series on the greenways! Learn about the history of these unique places around the St. Louis region while you enjoy the natural beauty during each run.
Thursday, July 7 on the Dardenne Greenway at 6pm
- Meet at Pavilion A next to the playground in Legacy Park - 5490 5th Street, Cottleville, MO 63304.
- 3.0 mile short distance - Legacy Park to St. Charles Community College and back
- 7.3 mile long distance - Legacy Park to Rabbit Run Park and back
- Learn about the early 1800s history of Boone's Lick Road
- Several restaurants nearby in downtown Cottleville
Thursday, July 21 on the St. Vincent Greenway at 6pm
- Meet at the St. Vincent Shelter (turn right off of entrance road into the park before the community center) - 7335 St. Charles Rock Road, St. Louis, MO 63133
- 3.3 mile short distance - St. Vincent Shelter to UMSL and back
- 5.7 mile long distance - St. Vincent Shelter to North Hanley MetroLink and back
- Learn about the history of the St. Vincent's Hospital castle in the park going back to the late 1800s
- Pizza and drinks provided in the park after the run
Thursday, August 18 on the Meramec Greenway at 6pm
- Meet at the pavilion in Drewel Park (2 Hill Drive, Eureka, MO 63025)
- 3.8 mile short distance - Drewel Park to Kircher Park and back
- 7.1 mile long distance - Drewel Park around Route 66 State Park and back
- Learn about the history of Times Beach from summer resort to ghost town to state park
- Several restaurants nearby in downtown Eureka
