Event Description

This is the 2nd annual Firecracker 4k Run for July 4th hosted by Orca Fitness.

The event will take place at Sarah Taylor Park in Fishkill , NY - located just off the intersection of Route 52 crossing Route 9 ((search in maps).

We have added another distance this year, for you to choose from based on skill and experience. The distances are a 2k, 4k or 6k run (1.33 and 2.66, or 4.00 miles respectively). 

The Course: the race format is a repeated loop. Each loop is 1km (or .67miles). The race begins from the pavilion, following the paved path towards thee park entrance. Follow the path around the turn, and be on the lookout for colored flags. Just before the playground, you will make a RIGHT and then a QUICK LEFT off the path & into the woods. Continue to follow the colored flags through the open trail. In about 1/4 mile, When the dirt trail meets an intersection at the gravel road, follow the flags and TURN LEFT to head back into the main park area. You will complete your first lap by passing the pavilion and continuing along the path (can stop if need water/etc.) 

Each loop is 1km. If you are running 2k, complete 2 loops of course. If you are completing the 4k, 4 laps of the course, and if 6k, 6 laps on the course.

All participants will receive finisher awards

After the event, we will have snacks, refreshments, and raffles!
