Partnered with Hoka and Fleet Feet Columbus we have a custom 13 week training plan for those wanting to see what they can accomplish on the trail and within themselves. This additionally comes complete with registration for the Rocks and Roots Trail Association: Scioto Trail Challenge 10 Mile Race and commemorative t-shirt. What do I get? Besides a great experience, camaraderie, knowledge, a sweet t-shirt, you will have a printable training plan that best suites you to follow during practices as well on your own. This will include group led practices Sundays and Thursdays starting 7/7/2022 until the race 10/2/2022. Locations will be generally be in the Columbus/Worthington/Powell area and communicated upon registration. Expect to get a little muddy.
Your trailblazers leading the way are: Deirdre Pifer, Lynne Johansson, Robin Rizek, Donna Poland, and Peggy Dunn.
Deirdre Pifer’s wonderful journey with Fleet Feet started in 2014 as a beginner in the No Boundaries 5k program. She then became a mentor for the group and also joined MIT. She has completed distances from 5k to 50k in the last eight years. Her love of trail running and hiking has taken her focus from the road and into the forest. Deirdre is an artist, so you may see her our sketching after a hike!
Lynne Johansson has been involved with Fleet Feet since 2013, as a participant and as a volunteer pacer. She enjoys covering long distances and has completed 50 k's and a 50 miler. She is excited to expand to hiking and looks forward to lots of trail miles to come.
Donna Poland's journey with Fleet Feet MIT started June 2014 in preparation for her second marathon. She started pace coaching January 2017. Over the years she has completed a number of road races from 5ks to a third marathon and numerous trail races from 10ks to one 50 miler, so far. She loves being on the trails in OH surrounded by nature and also love venturing to other states to experience different trails as well.
Robin Rizek has been with Fleet Feet since 2016. She started as a volunteer pacer in 2018. She has completed over 30 half marathons, a full marathon, 2- 50k's and is currently training for a 50 miler. She loves being on the trails and loves hiking.
She looks forward to spending the next few months with the club, learning about our parks and enjoying the woods with everyone.
Peggy Dunn joined MIT in 2018 and has since completed multiple half marathons, a virtual full and a 50K ultra while finding a wonderful community of running friends. An avid hiker, Peggy loves visiting national parks and is excited to coach with this new trail hiking group.
