Event Description

SUPPORTING THE SANCTUARY

Peace Ridge Sanctuary invites you to join in the 2022 5k Run for the Animals & 1 Mile Fun Walk on October 8, 2022 at our Northeast Equine Facility in Freedom, Maine.  Our race is designed to support the lifesaving work Peace Ridge does every day. Help us to continue providing quality care to the animals, rescue more animals in need and aid in fostering compassion towards animals through encouraging a plant-based diet. This event is a 5k race and a 1 mile walk, open to all levels of physical fitness. It’s a great day to enjoy the company of fellow animal lovers & plant eaters.

This is one of the very few fundraising events that Peace Ridge will do per year and the funds that are raised are vital to continuing to help feed and care for all the rescued animals. The majority of the animals at the sanctuary have come from situations of extreme cruelty and have taught us what it means to endure and to be forgiving. We are tremendously grateful for your participation, and of any fundraising you are motivated to do. We will be awarding great, vegan prizes to the top  fundraiser as well as other top finishers and raffle winners!

THE RACE/WALK

This race will be located at Peace Ridge Sanctuary's newest addition, the Northeast Equine Sanctuary. The land is currently in its early stages of development, however, we do plan to have horses in at least one of the several enclosures at the location by the time of the event. Both the 5k and the walk will run the perimeter of the future enclosures. This unique event offers breathtaking views of luscious green lands and a charming bridge overlooking a peaceful babbling brook, which by October should be even more beautiful with fall foliage.  In the years that follow our goal for this special course is to allow participants to enjoy all the sounds and views of the animals they are supporting while they go about their peaceful lives. The animals will also be quite entertained!
