Event Description

Get ready for "Fitness and Fun with a purpose"! Join the Chicago Vocational Alumni Association for a Saturday morning 5K Run-Walk at CVS high school on Saturday, August 6, 2022. It’s a Cavalier & Community FUNdraiser and proceeds will benefit the CVS Athletic Department.

Athletic programs in schools rely heavily on fundraisers and ticket sales to keep the programs going.  You can support CVS students and the athletic programs by participating in the 5K run-walk, becoming a Sponsor, or making a Donation.  With the help of many of you, last year we were able to donate $5,000 to support the athletic teams.  Let's do even better this year!

The 5K route will include the beautiful 27-acres of the CVS campus, but we’re working to expand the route and will post the full route details soon!  

This is a Cavalier and Community event so please feel free to share with other alumni, family and friends. This is our 2nd annual 5K and we want to THANK YOU for your involvement and support!

ABOUT THE EVENT

We will start the morning in front of the school on 87th Street at 8:30a.m. with a check-in, stretching and warming up and the 5K will step off at 9:30a.m.  All skill levels are invited to participate, from experienced runners to brisk walkers to those just dusting off their gym shoes. 

In addition, CVS high school will also be hosting a Community Day event on the same day with family-centered activities.  So, after you cross the finish line please stay and enjoy the music, food, and fun.

This event will take place rain or shine.  Entry fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.  Space is limited.

Price: $35.00 + $3.10 Processing Fee

All registered participants will receive:

• T-Shirt

• Runner/Walker Bib

• A Finisher Medal

• Snack & Water 

PACKET PICKUP

Pre-registered participants may pick up packets on Friday, August 5th at the CVS High School, 2100 East 87th Street, Chicago.  Time: TBD  

Or, you can pick up items starting at 8:30am on the day of the event during check-in.

VIRTUAL RUNNERS/WALKERS ARE WELCOME

Can’t make it in-person but still want to experience the excitement and share in the cause? Or don’t live in Chicago but still want to support? You can participate virtually! You can choose your own route and time.  All you have to do is lace up and get out there and run or walk.  We will ship your participant kit directly to your door. The only requirement is that you share a photo with us to add to the website!
