Event Description

Maryland CASA Association is a private, non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization incorporated in 1997 to support the continued development and success of Maryland’s Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) programs to ensure that every abused and neglected child in the State has a safe, permanent home. The purpose of Maryland CASA is to advance the individual efforts of the local CASA programs, provide training and technical assistance, help to start new CASA programs where needed, and raise public awareness so that more of the state’s abused and neglected children may be served. Maryland CASA officially opened its doors in 1998 and has helped to start new CASA programs throughout the state, expanding the number of counties served by CASA to nineteen. Today, Maryland CASA continues its efforts to expand CASA’s reach to the few remaining counties in the state. There are over 900 CASA volunteers in the state of Maryland but, sadly, only 15% of the children in foster care have CASA volunteers.

GoTeamCASA is Maryland CASA's biggest annual fundraising event held in conjunction with the Baltimore Running Festival. Join our GoTeamCASA as a participant, sponsor, or donor and help us continue our mission to find safe, permanent homes for children and youth in Maryland living in foster care.
