Event Description

Race through the "mostly" paved trails behind Mt. Brighton in the Light the Torch 180 5K night glow run.  The Torch food truck will be on hand with food for purchase, and Mt. Brighton will be serving beer and drinks inside their beautiful chalet.

If that's not flashy enough for you, then our swag should make you glow, literally, with race logo embroidered LED glow caps!!! Wear your own light up and glow-in- the-dark accessories-- there will be contests & prizes! Registration on or before August 5th includes a LED glow cap and a race medal.

This is a chip-timed race with age categories.  Age category winners will win an item from The Torch food truck.

All proceeds from the Light the Torch 180 5K will go towards providing critical vocational training, student scholarships, and operating our facility. Torch 180 aims to educate and train young adults with disabilities or other obstacles to employment. Many of our young people live with various disabilities or co-existing conditions creating some unique needs that we work hard to accommodate.

It is estimated that unemployment among individuals with disabilities in Michigan is 75%; those with autism is 85%! Our program offers hands-on training and experience in a state-of-the-art facility preparing our students for gainful employment opportunities in their communities and thereby creating a real possibility for their future independence!
