100% of proceeds will be donated to Boston Children’s Hospital Pain Clinic in honor of the Race Directors 20 year old daughter, Sadie Rose, who has suffers from chronic nerve pain and has been a patient at BCH for more than 18 years

After a very emotional day I told Sadie’s Doctor I would raise One Million Dollars for Boston Children’s Hospital(BCH) Pain Clinic for everything they have done and continue doing. The question is how am I going to do that. So we created a race for every ability...the 0.0 Road Race held at the Wachusett Brew Yard. Also threw in a Cornhole Tournament. Our first year in 2018 was sold out and again in 2019. The 2022 Wachusett Brew Yard 0.0 Road Race/Cornhole Tournament will be held this September 17th 2022.

Our daughter Sadie Rose has been to the hospital over 500 times, including two ambulance ride and countless emergency rooms visits. In June 2018 she had surgery to remove some nerves in her abdomen and some cartilage on her ribs. In December 2018 she had a surgery that had some complications that put her back in the hospital for a couple nights. January 2019 she had her nerves cut in the back of her head, (the occipital nerve). This would relieve the continuous migraine headaches. A controversial surgery but that seems to be the norm for Sadie.
During the pandemic years Sadie spent more than 60 days in the hospitaI and a trip to the ER when she got Covid this past May. Since a very young age Sadie has gone to to Boston Children's Hospital.(BCH) All Sadie has ever known is that she always needs to go to the hospital. She rarely if ever complained as she knows it was the best place to be for the care that she needs. Sadie is so well known that it’s very common that a doctor, nurse or anesthesiologist will come to visit and say “Hi’ while she is at BCH.
A fund has been set up at BCH called the Pediatric Interventional Pain Service Fund. This means every penny I raise now goes directly to Sadie’s Doctor, Pradeep Dinakar at BCH Pain Clinic. Doctor Dinakar is behind everything and has been hands down the most compassionate doctor we have ever met. He has set up a fund, which is no easy task to get done. We know that research is the only way to have clinical trials and eventually cures. Sadie’s last three surgeries were not done 6 years ago as there was not enough research to back them up and now there is. 100% of our funds raised will go towards research under his direction. This fund was set up due to the endless support we received from beautiful people like you and a patient, Sadie Rose, who is fearless!!! This is Sadie’s fund and will help children who suffer from the same disorder Sadie has.
Sincerely,
Michael Doherty, Race Organizer and Sadie's Dad
