Event Description

Held in beautiful Croft State Park on October 8th, 2022, the Palmetto Possum Adventure Biathlon is the perfect event to dip your toes into the great sport of Adventure Racing! Since this biathlon does not have a paddle (canoe) segment, you can focus on your land navigation as you explore the top-rated mountain bike trails at the park and hike or trail  past Lake Johnson and over a segment of the iconic Palmetto Trail known as the "Croft Passage"

Adventure races are like a choose-your-own-adventure event! None of the checkpoints are mandatory, so you and your team can choose what sections to cover, how much distance you can handle, and how close you want to cut your arrival at the finish line! You have an 8 hour window to get as many checkpoints as you can, some of which are easier to find than others. 

If you cover the entire course, it's 24 miles of biking and 16 of trekking. How much will YOU do?

You can race solo or as part of a 2, 3, or 4 person team, in any gender combination. Have more than 4 people? just let us know and we'll set you up as a matched team. 

Post-race, we'll have awards for the top three competitors in all categories, plus our famous "Spirit of the Race" award, and a barbeque for all racers! 

Croft Park has camping and RV spots available, or you can stay in nearby Spartanburg.
