Event Description

We're back for Project ECHO's annual Thanksgiving Day 5K Turkey Trot!

For year 11, hitting the trails at Jefferson Patterson Park & Museum. JPPM is located in Saint Leonard just 12 miles south of Project ECHO. This park has the Patuxent River as a backdrop, miles of scenic hiking trails, and more historical features than we can list here. It's truly a southern Maryland treasure! We're absolutely thrilled to invite you to this venue for our favorite Thanksgiving tradition.

This event will take place at Jefferson Patterson Park & Museum: 10515 Mackall Rd, Saint Leonard, MD 20685

Packet pick-ups will take place at Project ECHO Thrift & Gift Shop: 885 Main St. Prince Frederick, MD 20678 (only half of a mile south of the shelter).

 

Pre-Registration Dates & Details:

Nov. 18: Early Bird discount ends at 11:59 pm.

Nov. 22: Online registration closes at 11:59 pm.

 

New Location for walk-in registration and packet pick-ups:

Project ECHO Thrift & Gift Shop, 885 Main St. Prince Frederick, MD

 

If you pre-register and/or reserve a t-shirt during registration, you may pick up your race bib early and avoid the race-day 6:00am check-in line. T-shirts are limited in both quantity and sizes. It is strongly suggested that you reserve a t-shirt during online registration and pick it up before race day.

Nov. 22: 10am - 6pm walk-in registration and pre-registration pick-ups @ Thrift Shop (885 Main St.)

Nov. 23: 3pm - 6pm walk-in registration and pre-registration pick-ups @ Thrift Shop (885 Main St.)

Race Day Schedule:

6:00 am - 6:50 am: Arrive, park, register or check-in, warm up, and get ready to race!

6:00 am: On-site registration and pre-registration check-in and packet pick-up.

7:00 am: Start Time.

8:00 am: (Approximate) Awards Ceremony.

 

Race Course:

5K: This course runs through fields and wooded trails and will present a fun new challenge for Turkey Trotters. The course is suitable for adults and children, runners and walkers, and timed and untimed participants. The exact course map will be available before the race. 

Virtual: This option is for those who aren’t able to join us on Thanksgiving morning but still want to support Project ECHO. Run or walk whenever and wherever you choose between now and the end of November. Share your personal Turkey Trot by sending us pictures and/or tagging us on social media.

 

Additional Details:

Complimentary light refreshments will be available before and after the race.

Port-o-potties and First Aid will be available near the start/finish line.

11th annual t-shirts are limited, but past year's Turkey Trot shirts will be available.

Complete race results will be posted online at www.projectECHO.net as soon as they are available.

Participants who place 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in their age group will receive a medal after the race. The first female and male across the finish line will be the Turkey Trot Overall Winners and they will receive awards as well as a lifetime of bragging rights.
