EVENT: Panua 5k Run/Walk and Kids' Free Fun Run
ABOUT RACE
This event will raise money to support Panua, a program designed to break the cycle of poverty and move orphaned and vulnerable youth in Kenya from dependency to self-sufficiency. Celebrate Panua with food, music, and post-race awards. Race page: panua.org/panua5k

RACE DAY REGISTRATION/PACKET PICK-UP
Opens at 6:00 a.m. Tent will be located in Lower Blue Jacket Park near the intersection of Robin Road and Upper Park Road. T-SHIRT SIZES NOT GUARANTEED ON RACE DAY.
START
The start is located in Lower Blue Jacket Park near the intersection of Robin Road and Upper Park Road in Baldwin Park. For safety and courtesy to other participants please line up according to your anticipated mile time.
CHIP SCORING
The “Chip Time Scoring” is the timing device used to score 5k participants. In order to receive an accurate time, please confirm your bib is: Clearly visible on the FRONT of the torso, unaltered or modified and not covered.
FINISH
The finish is located in Blue Jacket Park near the starting point (loop route).
COURSE
The course is a loop that begins and ends in Lower Blue Jacket Park. Our race begins in Blue Jacket Park near the intersection of Robin Road and Upper Park Road in Baldwin Park. Runners will follow the sidewalk within Blue Jacket Park, then cross Lakemont to wind around beautiful Lake Baldwin’s paved trail. Finish will be back in Blue Jacket Park. Bicycles, roller skates, in-line skates, and dogs will be prohibited from the race course. The use of headphones is discouraged.
STROLLER RESTRICTIONS
Stroller/jogger operators please start behind runners. Stroller/jogger operators must yield the right of way to runners. Stroller/Joggers can tip easily and cannot turn quickly. Please do not weave through packs of runners.
WALKER FRIENDY
Walkers are encouraged to participate in the Panua 5k! Please allow runners to line up in front of walkers.
RESULTS
Results will be available at the race. For same day online results go to run4acause.org. Runners and walkers who wear the designated chip are included in the race results.
AWARDS/GIVEAWAYS - New this year: Age Group Awards!
Top three overall males and top three overall females will receive awards.
Awards will also be given to the top three males and females in each age group.
Kids’ Run participants will each receive a prize.
KIDS' RUN
Distances will range from 400 yards to one mile. Children may be divided into age groups depending on attendance. Prize given to all finishers.
VIRTUAL 5k
Won't be in town for the race, but still want to support our cause? Register as a virtual runner and run your own 5k anywhere in the United States. T-shirts are available for virtual runners, but must be picked up during regular packet pick-up times. T-shirts and packets will not be mailed to participants.
