Our Cause:
Why do we run? Because every parent deserves a healthy pregnancy, and every baby deserves a healthy start. At CCI, our prenatal program is essential to improving the health of mothers and their children. Weknow women can face many challenges in accessing care in our community.

*Women of color often receive inadequate care and have more challenging pregnancy experiences.
     * Immigrant women may have limited English proficiency and require care adapted to their linguistic and cultural needs.
     * Women facing chronic health conditions, like hypertension or diabetes, need higher level of care to ensure healthy, full-term pregnancies.

In the CCI service area, Prince George's County faces some of the worst birth outcomes in the state. The county does not offer prenatal care services to its residents, making it more difficult for already underserved women to achieve healthy birth outcomes.

Without appropriate prenatal care, women may experience dangerous complications during pregnancy and labor, and babies are at greater risk for physical and mental disabilities. Quality prenatal care changes the trajectory of patients' birth outcomes, leading to healthy, full-term babies.
