Event Description

5K fun run/walk in honor of Kelsey Weems of Davis Junction. Kelsey was diagnosed with Stage 3 Triple-negative breast cancer on June 21st. Kelsey will need 24 rounds of Chemo. She started chemo on July 13. (2 days after her 34th birthday) She hopes to have chemo done by Christmas, but it will all depending on how her body reacts. She will then undergo surgery to remove the mass and follow up with radiation treatment. Kesley is a mother two amazing boys Ryder is 10 and going into 5th grade at Monroe Center Elementary School. Jett is 5 and will be starting kindergarten at Highland Elementary, where Kelsey was working. She worked in the preschool but unfortunately due to Kelsey's aggressive treatment plan she will be unable to return to work.  Ted Kelsey's husband will have to take unpaid days off of work to help Kelsey and to be home with the body when Kelsey is unable too. Medical bills have already started to come in and fast.  All money raised at this event will go to Kelsey and her family to help with bills. Kesley is an amazing person, with a huge heart and would help you with whatever she could. I Ashley Champlain have been one of Kelsey's friends since we attended Higland Elementary many years ago I wanted to put this event together to help her and her family and to show her how much love and support she has around her. Kelsey is going to be greatly missed by her work family and friends this year while she is fighting for her freedom of this cancer. Please join us and help us raise money to help her and her family.
