Race is Sunday, October 16 at 8:30 a.m. at Gast Family Farms, 5165 Lincoln Avenue, St. Joseph, MI. It’s free.
Friends and family are welcome to join us on a run through the grape orchards. Every year our very large family gets together for a weekend to pick grapes and make homemade grape juice. Since most of us are avid runners, a few years ago we decided to incorporate this fun run into it and we've slowly expanded the weekend from there. It's a pretty time of year to be in Southwest Michigan and at the farm. This is a low-key, informal event but t-shirts, homemade medals, grape juice, and farm tours will be provided. NEW THIS YEAR - 1 Mile Run/Walk for the kiddos and shorter distance enthusiasts. Also, new this year - the farm stand got upgraded to a full-fledged farm store so you're welcome to stop by and check out the pumpkins and other fall decor after the run.
We will try to do something simple timing wise again so that you have an “official” time. Unlike last year when Lisa kind of dropped the ball. But, also like last year, it’s technically a trail run with lots of turns, so manage your expectations on time. Walking is also perfectly acceptable.
Important: Only sign up if you intend to show up, please. That way we know what to order and what to have on hand for race day! But also, please don't show up if you're sick. We will get you your shirt and medal and grape juice if you cannot attend for whatever reason.

Note: We put this on for fun, so it's free. In lieu of giving us money, we'd love it if you instead support causes that are close to us -
- Skip Gast is running his first marathon (the Chicago marathon!) and raising funds for the American Diabetes Association. Our sister Jenna has Type 1 diabetes, so it's a cause that is important to us. Support by donating here.
- The Box Factory for the Arts is a non-profit arts organization in Southwest Michigan. They have a gallery, community arts space and studios for local artists. The arts is important to our family, especially our late grandma Jean Gast. They are a small non-profit and they rely on community support - donate here.
REGISTRATIONS ON OR AFTER 10/1 ARE NOT GUARANTEED A T-SHIRT. We'll order a few extras, but no guarantee!
