Event Description
From the moment the gun goes off in beautiful Iao Valley, just above Wailuku, you know your in paradise and crossing the finish line will be one of the best moments of your life as well, as you finish at the beautiful beach park of Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary in Kihei, overlooking the beautiful Pacific Ocean just feet away.
The Valley To the Sea Half Marathon 5K/10K presented by Runners Paradise Inc. and Hawaii Elite Track Team with spectacular views through the most beautiful setting in the world. It's an entire event filled with competition and fun starting with the Half Marathon and 5k(Half Beach Run) and 10k(Half Beach, Half Road Run) and ending when you cross the finish line on Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary during whale season. If that doesnt motivate you, and it being whale season, then nothing will.
Hawaii Elite Track Team, a non-profit organization, has been in existence since 1992. First established on Oahu, but now making its home here on Maui since 1996, Hawaii Elite Track Team has catered to the track and field youth community of Hawaii for now twenty years. Funds from this event will help fund clinics, camps, National meets, training, equipment and uniforms for these young athletes for years to come.

Race day March 18th @ 6:00am for Half Marathon(5k/10k will start and finish at the Whale Sanctuary at 6:20am).
Start Line: Half marathon @ Iao Valley Needle.
(Shuttle will take you there from the Humpback Whale Sanctuary at 5am)
5k/10k start and finish at the Humpback Whale Sanctuary in Kihei
**PARKING IS MINIMAL AT THE START AND FINISH, SO WE RECOMMEND YOU BE DROPPED OFF AT THE STARTLINE. YOU CAN PARK ON THE SIDE STREETS OFF THE COURSE AND WALK TO THE START LINE. TRY NOT TO PARK ON COURSE PATH.

SHIRTS WILL BE GIVEN OUT AS REGISTERED FOR. SHIRT EXCHANGE MAY BE DONE RACE DAY, DEPENDING ON SIZE AVAILABILITY.
