6 Mile & 10 Mile Saturday, January 7, 2023 8:30 AM At Dismal Swamp Canal Trail, Rest Stop at mile post 4, Chesapeake
10 Mile & 15 Mile Saturday, January 28, 2023 8:30AM packet pickup is at the Fort Monroe Community Center, 100 Stillwell Road, Fort Monroe, VA 23651. Start/finish line is just a short distance away.
12 Mile & 20 Mile Saturday, February 25, 2023 8:30 AM At Dismal Swamp Canal Trail, Rest stop at Mile Post 4, Chesapeake
Race Courses:
Jan. 7th & February 25th begin and finish at the entrance to the Dismal Swamp Canal Trail, Rest Stop at mile post 4, Chesapeake, VA 23323 and will be an out & back. Start will be a chip start with everyone starting at 8:30. January 28th, will start close to the Fort Monroe Community Center, 100 Stillwell Road, Fort Monroe, VA 23651 and will be two or three 5-mile loops around the fort’s waterfronts. Finish line closure is based for each race date on a 15 minute per mile. Early starts for walkers for Distance Series 3 may be arranged by the Striders Walking Committee at vmay4@cox.net.
After Race Parties:
Post race party for January 7th (10:00) and February 25th (11:00) will be at Big Woody's on Battlefield Blvd. January 28th party will be at Ozzlefinch Brewery, 81 Patch Road, Fort Monroe
Directions:
Dismal Swamp Canal Trail:, Trail Start, Old Route 17 and George Washington Hwy, Chesapeake, VA 23323 just off Rt 17. GPS tracking is Rest Stop at Mile Post 4, Chesapeake, VA.
DS 2 start will be at the Fort Monroe Community Center, 100 Stillwell Road, Fort Monroe, VA 23651
Inclement Weather: The Race Director and the Tidewater Striders reserve the right to cancel or reschedule or adjust distances as needed in the interest of safety or access restrictions to the venue.
Registration closes at 6:45 PM the Friday before each event. You may pick up your race number starting at 7:15 race morning. We will be at Running Etc., Hilltop Location the Friday before each event starting at 4:30 to 6:45.
