Event Description
Join us for our Race to the Top of Poo Poo Point, 6k Fun Run Race and 1 mile Sprint Race. Be the first to have the fastest time up the mountain with Bragging Rights. The winner will receive a cash bonus of $50 for breaking the record held by Laura Breymann 29:52.The first half of the 1.8 mile jaunt is very challenging. The total elevation gain is 1,475 feet. Get the medal of accomplishment of conquering Poo Poo Point! All registrants receive The Race up Poo Poo Point authentic long sleeve T-shirt. Winner gets the Golden Poo Poo award. Age group winners get ribbons. There will be a water stop at top and bottom of the mountain. The race is chip timed so please go between the two red cones at the top of mountain to get scored (timed). Enjoy your journey to the top and congratulations for under taking the Mountain Challenge of the Poo Poo Point. Down the mountain is not timed.
Event details and schedule
The course starts at the base of the mountain trail head of Poo Poo Point off of Hobart-Issaquah Road Poo Poo Point Trailhead (11400 Issaquah-Hobart Road Southeast, Issaquah, WA 98027) The course goes onto the Chirico Trail (DNR) department of Natural Resources for 1.8 miles with and elevation gain of 1,475'. The 6k Fun Run will run at the base of the mountain out and back 1.83 miles and the Mile Sprint Race will be out 0.5 mile and back. There are water stops at the bottom and top of the mountain. There is limited parking at the base of the mountain. Please car pool if possible. The race is limited to 50 participants so register early. Wear appropriate clothing because the higher elevations will be colder especially at the end of January. The race starts promptly at 8 am. Please take your time down the mountain since it is not timed. We will have CPR/First Aid on the mountain. Fire and Rescue have been notified of the event. Godspeed!
