Event Description

Join us for the 2nd Annual GSB 20TH SFG (A) 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run. This is a great chance to do something active with your family and members of the Alabama National Guard. The 5K race is open to all National Guard members, veterans, and community members (kid friendly event).

Help us support our military members by signing up to participate in our 2nd annual GSB 20TH SFG (A)5K Run/Walk. If you cannot make the event or you would like to make a donation, please visit the tabs on our website for more information. Visit the store page if you would like to purchase a race T-Shirt only. Proceeds will be invested in the GSB, 20th SFG(A) to support our active military members and veterans. This event is held in memory of SFC Karl (Kevin) Provens “Paratroopers never die, they just slip away”.

This event will begin at 0800 5K to start followed by the 1-mile fun run/walk. Runners will start inside the National Guard Motor Pool and turn left just pass the National Guard building to head towards the Gadsden Regional Airport. Runners will run down the Gadsden Regional air strip to the turnaround point and finish inside the motor pool where they will be greeted by National Guard members. The 5K is a timed event.

After race events: Music, food and beverages, and much more fun for the family.

Packet Pick Up: Friday March 24th 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. at the National Guard Armory (176 Ira Gray Drive Gadsden, AL 35904)
Race Day Packet Pick Up: 7:00 - 7:30 a.m. in front of the National Guard Armory
Awards will be given in the 5K (Awards will be given to the top three male and female winners)
All runners will receive the GSB, 20th SFG(A) 5K race T-Shirt (Please register before February 15th to guarantee T-Shirt)
ATTENTION: Due to the location of this event strollers and dogs are not allowed.
