The Youth in Movement Summer Series is back, and we're excited to announce that this year we're expanding to four different tracks across the Bronx. This series is perfect for young runners of all levels, and is a great way to promote health and wellness while having fun with other members of the community.
Starting on June 10th, the first event of the series will be held at the Van Cortlandt Park track. From there, we'll be moving to Pelham Bay Park on July 1st, Soundview Park on July 15th, and Joseph Yancey Track on August 19th. The races are open to all youth in the Bronx, and we encourage everyone to come out and participate.
Each event in the race series will be led by professional runners who will guide the participants in warm-up exercises and stretches to help prepare their bodies for the races. The trainers will provide expert advice on how to properly stretch and warm up, helping to prevent injuries and enhance performance.
The races themselves will consist of 100m and 200m sprints, allowing participants to showcase their speed and agility. In addition to the individual races, each event will feature a 4x100 meter relay race, in which teams of four runners will compete against each other.
The Youth in Movement Summer Series is a great way to stay active and engaged throughout the summer months, and to connect with other members of the Bronx community. We hope to see you there!
