Event Description

Join us as we celebrate and run with the most patriotic Americans in Florida's most amazing downtown of Dunedin, FL on Saturday November 11, 2023, for the best Veterans Day 5K run/walk in Florida.

The City of Dunedin has partnered with Finish Lines For Scholarships 501c3 annually for this event to bring you a day that will celebrate veterans from across the world who have served and are still serving the US military.

The race begins and ends across from downtown by the Dunedin Stadium near the VFW (for great photo ops) at the Dunedin Hale Center 330 Douglas Avenue, Dunedin, FL 34698, directly across the street from Dunedin Stadium.

The finishers medals are all American themed and outstanding as this is a great way to commemorate those whom YOU LOVE who have served our great nation. The 5K run walk will begin from the Hale Center at 330 Douglas Avenue in Dunedin across from the stadium at 8:30 a.m. At 8:10 a.m. race management will call all children and parents out to the Pinellas Trail for a kid's dash. Children are separated by size and they are never out of sight for this adorable run. Have your cell phone video and camera ready. This run is stroller friendly and fully paved.

All 5K participants will receive the American themed promotional event shirt, a finisher's medal and pancake breakfast offered by either the VFW or the American Legion (we are still finalizing the details).

An email will be sent to all registrants the day prior to the event with your bib number assignment and parking and arrival instructions for an easy the check in on race day only.

We do not post results at the venue in order to maintain our non competitive group of runners and to keep the environment light and celebratory. Top finisher awards will be handed to the 1st 15 males and 1st 15 females in the 5K run only. Children and 5K finishers will each receive a finisher's medal, however, the children's run does not include the event T-shirt.

This is a co-sponsored event with the City of Dunedin and Finish Lines For Scholarships 501c3. Law enforcement will be positioned at each intersection along the fully paved Pinellas trail in an out and back course from the Hale Center heading north. Each of you will be running or walking through the most beautiful part of North pinellas in downtown Dunedin, Florida.

Dunedin is the home to a fabulous VFW and American Legion that each of you will pass along the 5K route so please cheer back to any veterans who are outside cheering you on as this is our day to celebrate all those who have

Parking is free at the Hale Center as well as at the Dunedin Library. And email will go out the day before the race around 4 PM with your bib number assignment and final arrival instructions for a successful morning where we celebrate many who have served in all branches of the US military, law enforcement, fire rescue, and 1st responders.
