Event Description

The Bengal Triathlon and Duathlon are perfect for beginners or seasoned racers! The Triathlon consists of a 700-yard pool swim (14 laps or 28 lengths in a 25-yard pool), a 13-mile bike, and a 3-mile run (asphalt + trail). The event is held in April in Idaho... so we rely on a pool to complete the swim. To accommodate the large number of participants we get each year, we have swim locations spread throughout Idaho. All swims will take place during the week of the race (swim days/times vary by location).  Most participants will complete their swim in Pocatello on friday night.  Your swim time will seed how you start on Saturday bike + run start.  Triathletes will share the bike and run course with duathletes on Saturday (race day).  

We have Individual and Relay Team options available for both races!

This is one of the best-managed races you'll find... with clearly marked bike and run courses and a ridiculous number of volunteers on the course to keep you safe! We typically have between 300-400 participants. You even get a sweatshirt instead of a lousy t-shirt (if you register before March 24).   Individual racers and relay teams (2 or 3 members) are welcome!  

SORRY... THIS EVENT OFFERS NO REFUNDS.  We are a university-sponsored event, and this event is a capstone project for our Sport Management majors. 

Event details and schedule

The swim takes place on Friday and the bike + run will go on Saturday.  Swim times seed the bike+run start. We do have limited space available for satellite swim locations in Idaho Falls, Twin Falls, Lava Hot Springs, and Boise. The Rexburg location is only available for BYU-I faculty, staff, and students.  Smitty (your awesome race director) will send out LOTS OF INFORMATION, including a race guide, after April 1.  Lots of information also posted regularly on our Facebook page.  Course maps and more race information available on our BENGAL TRIATHLON WEBSITE.
