Event Description

The last Groundhog Day Prediction Race will be held on Sunday, February 5, 2023 in Zelienople at the Masonic Hall on East Beaver Street, near the Zelienople Community Park.

Race Distances: 6.66 * 3.33* 1.11 All 3 is 11.1

Registration and packet pick-up at 8:00 AM, races start at 9:00 AM

How does it work?
You predict your finish time. If you are within 66 seconds of your 6.66 predicted time, or 33 seconds of your 3.33 predicted time, or 11 seconds of your 1.11 mile time, you get a special gift. What's the catch? You can't wear a watch or use any timing device during the race, this includes, phones, Ipod’s, MP3 players, Garmin’s or watches. You can't have a family member tell you what your time is on the course. Your time must reflect how you feel on race day. We will have people watching. If you cheat, you forfeit your free gift.

What do you get? A blanket, Jenny Lee cinnamon swirl bread, a chance to win a great door prize, awesome postrace food, The Groundhog Day Proclamation read for everyone that day and fun Groundhog Day celebrations and traditions, including music, dancing and an auction. Awards to the male and female who get closest to their predicted times in each race. Top 3 overall male and female in each race. Top 3 male and female in each age group.  Donations can be made to support Victory Family Church Food Bank and the ALS Foundation of Western Pennsylvania and a portion of each registration will be donated to the ALS Foundation of Western Pennsylvania.
