Event Description

Join us for the first Annual H.E.R.O Freedom Run featuring a 1 mile fun run and 5k run/walk on the beautiful cross country course located at Manly W. Bennett Memorial Park in Hamburg Township on the east side of Merrill Rd. and is held on the last day of the Hamburg Fun Fest. We will kick off with a 1 mile fun run at 8:30am and our 5K run/walk at 9am on a cross country style course. The funds raised for this event will benefit Freedom River, Inc., a non-profit organization that helps veterans and their families to relax, recover, and rejuvenate. The race will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2023 morning starting at 8:30am.

COURSE: Cross country type course including trails, fields, pavement with slight hills. Race is chipped timed.

PACKET PICKUP: At the registration table on race day (6/17) starting at 7am and will close at 9am.

AWARDS: Trophies to all first place finishers and overall male and female.

AGE GROUPS: 1 Mile Fun Run: 6 & under, 7-8, 9-10, 11-14 5K Run/walk: 10 & under, 11-17, 18 & over Male and Female, Male and Female overall

REGISTRATION INCLUDES: Commemorative race T-shirt. Shirts not guaranteed for late entries (after 5/31). Also included in your race packet: Amusement ride VIP passes for Hamburg Family Fun Fest (pack of 3), free parking for the race and Hamburg Family Fun Fest bag of goodies.

PARKING: Available at Manly W. Bennett Memorial Park parking lots.

RESULTS: We will have live results on this site!

The race will be professionally timed by the Michigan Running Foundation. Results will be posted during the race and live on this website.
