Event Description
The Family Life Center will be hosting its 1st Annual 5K Run/Walk for Life! This race is challenging with great competition and you will love the course scenery on the General Dacey Trail! Please help us make this race a huge success and allow us to continue to provide education, parenting classes, ultrasounds and help to young families in the area.

7:45 – 8:45 am: Late Registration and Packet Pick Up
9:00 am: 5K Run/Walk Start
10:30 am: Awards for 1st place in each age group will be awarded
Registration Fees:
5K- $25 per person or $75/family of 5
*Race shirt not included after April 13th – small quantities available for purchase on race day
Registration includes race entry, T-shirt*, packet, bib, and timed chip. Rain or shine, no refunds.

Race Day FAQ
Virtual Races: We are offering a Virtual 5K to those that would rather not be at an event. Your bib, shirt and packet will be mailed to you.
Race Packet Pick-up: Packet pick-up will be located at Family Life Center, 225 E South 1st St, Shelbyville, IL 62565 on Thursday: 1pm - 4pm At Dacey Trail, E North 9th Street, Shelbyville IL 62565 on Saturday: 7:45am - 8:45am
Course: The 5K Run/Walk for Life starts at the Forest Park entrance of the Dacey Trail. This race is challenging with great competition and you will love the course scenery on the General Dacey Trail! Please be advised that portions of the course will remain open to traffic.
Timing: Bib timing will be provided by Kinetic Timing. You must pick up your official race bib at the designated packet pick-up time. Please attach the official bib to the front of your shirt prior to the race. If you do not have a bib, you will not be timed.
Race Number: Pin your race number/bib to the front of your shirt, plainly and visibly to race officials, drivers, photographers and spectators. All participants must wear an official race number/bib.
Health and Safety: Drink fluids before, during and after the race. Stay hydrated! There will be a water station along the course with bottled water available. Traffic control will be provided by FLC volunteers and the Shelbyville Police Dept. However, please be advised that although volunteers along the course will deter traffic to the best of their ability, safety is ultimately your own responsibility. Watch for traffic!
First Aid Stations: First aid will be provided by Family Life Center.
Awards: Awards will be given to the top male and female finishers in each age group and must be claimed at the event. The age groups are as follows:
19 and Under
20 - 35
35 - 50
51 - 65
65 and Over

Parking: Free parking is available in Forest Park north and east of the ball fields near the entrance of the Dacey Trail. Signs will be posted.
