Event Description

Enjoy the beautiful scenery at Earle May Boat Basin and the Flint River as you "Run for the Beads" in our 1st Annual 5K and 1 mile-Fun Run! Awards will be given to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd overall male and female runners. Make sure to dress in your best Mardi Gras garb because in addition to race prizes, best Mardi Gras costumes will be awarded. Race proceeds will benefit local charities and programs in the Bainbridge area! The Mardi Gras Society of Southwest Georgia looks forward to host this colorful and competitive event, along with the other fun Mardi Gras events that day! The race will begin and end in Historic Downtown Bainbridge so stop by after the run to see our furry friends in "The Parade of Barkus", a costumed dog parade benefiting the Humane Society!
