Event Description

For the past two years people around the world, especially within the running community, have pledged to walk, jog or run 2.23 miles, symbolic of the day Ahmaud Arbery was gunned down while running on February 23, 2020.

Fleet Feet Montclair, Black Men Run and Saucony are joining together to host a 2.23 mile run to honor Arbery’s life and advocate for racial equality.

One hundred percent of registration fees and funds donated will support Black Men Run. The Black Men Run Foundation is a nonprofit organization with a mission of encouraging health and wellness among African American men by promoting a culture of running/jogging to stay fit, resulting in “A Healthy Brotherhood.”

In Person:

We will meet at Montclair Brewery at 6:30PM and step off for the run by 6:45PM. The first round of beer will be covered by Saucony.
*Space is limited. Participants must register to attend.

Virtual:

If you cannot join us in person, we invite you to participate virtually by logging your 2.23 miles between 2/23 and 2/26.
