Event Description
ABOUT & WHY - 3rd Annual 5K run - USATF certified, 2 mile walk and 20 yard Fun Run for Kids, is a fundraiser supporting Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital hosted by the Upstate Foundation. More than 12,000 visits to Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital are made annually by Binghamton area families.
PROCEEDS & DONATIONS Our proceeds this year will help us increase access to care for mental health services for children & teens in the Binghamton area and Central New York, a timely & critical need. Please bring offline donations with you to the South shelter at Otsiningo Park on event morning.
FUNDRAISING - Is optional, but every dollar raised helps pediatric patients and their families. Your help is appreciated!
AWARDS - Top fundraising team; top fundraising individual; top three runners - men's and women's; children participating in the Fun Run for Kids receive ribbons. Runner times will be posted on this site.
ONLINE REGISTRATION - Open through Thursday, September 21, 2023 until noon. You can register event day at the park.

7:00am - Volunteer check-in
7:30am – Runner & Walker check in and day of registration begins.
7:30am - Coffee – Kathy, Dave & Eric’s Flavored Coffee (Java Joe's); Bagels & fresh fruit – for all
8:40am - Announcements
8:45am – Opening Ceremony
8:50am – Opening Remarks - Dr. Gregory Connors, Chief of Pediatrics, - Department Chair, Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital
8:55am - Star Spangled Banner -Performed by Rhonda Plunkett, Lead sing of "Splash"
9:00am – Race and Walk Begin!
9:15am - 10:15am - Kids Fun Run Begins (ages 1-10) - there will be multiple runs.
9:15:am - Face Painting
9:15 am – Post race munchies, snacks & beverages at pavilion
10:30am - Awards for Runners – Women’s & Men’s; Top Fundraiser; Top Fundraising Team
