Minot Area Council of the Arts is celebrating 50 years of service to the Minot Community- let’s run to celebrate the vibrancy of Minot’s Arts Community!

Join us for a 5k run- or leisurely 1 mile Art Crawl- through Downtown Minot on Thursday June 8th! This race will take you on a tour of Downtown Minot’s public art and murals and along the way you’ll have several opportunities to participate in unique “run-by” painting experiences!

The race will end on Main Street just in time for MACA’s 50th Birthday Celebration and the kick-off to Arts in the City: Thursdays Downtown!  

Thursdays Downtown feature live local music, live art demonstrations from area artists, and an artisan vendor fair, in addition to food trucks, bounce houses, axe throwing, and other activities! Participants in both the 5k and 1 mile Art Crawl will also be given an opportunity to showcase their creativity and try their hand at screen-printing to customize their race shirts at the event!

“Tell me more about this ‘run-by’ paint experience,” you say?

Well, we had this crazy idea that a bunch of runners throwing paint on some canvases might make some pretty cool art, so that’s exactly what participants will get to do! And, for those of you who are a little more artsy and a little less “run-y,” brushes will be available for you to add some finesse to our community canvases! Collaboration and FUN is the aim here, so no painting experience is required!
