Event Description

Please join us for the Spring Into Action 5K/Walk. April is Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness Month. This event is being hosted in support of East Central-CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) who help abused and neglected children.

East Central-CASA believes that every child has the right to a safe, nurturing, and permanent home, and deserves the support and involvement of their community to make this possible. When the state steps in to protect a child's safety because the people responsible for protecting them have not, a judge appoints CASA to make independent and informed recommendations and help the judge decide what's best for the child. CASA is the only child advocacy group working in the court system that provides a caring, consistent adult focused on the well-being of a single child. For children who've been abused or neglected, CASA means having a home instead of feeling lost, and being a priority instead of feeling invisible.

Event details and schedule

5K and walk will start and finish in the garage at the Watertown Police Department located at 128 N. Maple. Registration starts at 9:00 am and 5K/Walk starts at 10:00 am. For safety reasons, no pets, bikes or roller blades please.

$20 per person if pre-registered by 12:00 PM on April 21st 

$25 per person on the day of the event

Participating Kids 12 and under are FREE but a registration form MUST be completed and signed by the parent.

Kids riding in stroller are FREE and no registration form is needed. No shirt will be received.

Register before April 7th if you want to be guaranteed a T-shirt. We will order some extras but once they are gone we won’t be ordering any more.
