WHO IS GRADY LAMBERT?
As the mission statement for his run, Grady stated "Over the course of the last few years, I've witnessed a decline in compassion for our fellow man and the weakening of the family unit, both of which have been perpetuated by the COVID Pandemic. Due to this, I am inspired to help. I am running across America to support those impacted by the pandemic. From March until late 2022, I will be running from Cannon Beach, Oregon to Hilton Head, South Carolina. A total of 4,482 miles. It is my mission to promote Compassion for our Fellow Man and our Country". On March 16, 2022, Grady embarked on his long-distance run starting at Cannon Beach. During his journey, Grady ran 2,364 miles, a distance long enough to nearly stretch across the United States. He stopped at hospitals along his route to thank frontline workers for all they did during COVID. During a stop at Guadalupe County Hospital in New Mexico, Grady told staff "There's a lot more unifying us than I think is dividing us and I wanted to make this whole thing come from a place of compassion. I'm here to thank you for showing up every single day and keeping all your community, and by extent, all of us going". Grady's run was cut short when he was struck by a truck in Amarillo, TX.
WHY RUN for GRADY - FINISH THIS !
Let's Finish This !
Grady Lambert's heart for adventure and compassion for helping others led him to begin a run across the country. His Run across America was intended to be a way to raise awareness for the heroes among us. He stopped along the way to volunteer at hospitals and offer encouragement to those working to save lives.
On Sunday, August 28th, Grady’s adventure was cut tragically short. While running near Amarillo, he was struck by a vehicle and was taken to the Amarillo hospital in critical condition. As an organ donor, Grady has given life to many others.
Grady’s wish, should a tragedy befall him before completing the run, was that his family take his ashes and finish the run for him - and, that's just what we intend to do!
To honor Grady and his commitment to supporting front-line heroes, this scholarship fund has been established.

Safety for our participants, volunteers, and staff is our number one concern. Any decision we make regarding the production or cancellation of the event will be made with their interest first and foremost. If mother nature does not cooperate on race morning - we will delay the event until the conditions are safe - this delay will continue for a reasonable amount of time until we deem it necessary to cancel the event. If time permits and if the weather poses a threat that is certain to make us cancel the event in the hours prior the start, we will notify participants of the race cancellation via email as soon as that decision is made.
