What is Rotary and what do we do?

Solving today's problems takes a real effort,
commitment, and vision. Rotarians work to protect
communities from preventable disease, keep women
and children healthy, improve education and economic
outcomes, create safe water and sanitation
infrastructure, and make our community and the world
a more peaceful place.
We are working with various partners on the following
initiatives:
• Danville's Riverfront Park - Donating $50,000 for
the park's development
• Rotary Park in Dan Daniel Park - A $10,000 project
that will enhance the Riverwalk Trail
• Danville Riverview Rotary Christmas Parade
• Interact Clubs at both Tunstall High School and
Dan River High School
• Dictionaries for third grade students
• Dan Daniel Park, the ballfields, and the Riverwalk
Trail
• Ending polio - Hosting annual fundraisers and
partnering with the Bill & Melinda Gates
Foundation, the World Health Organization, and
UNICEF to end polio, once and for all

Summary of our projects:
- Commitment to Polio Plus
- Danville Riverview Rotary Christmas Parade
- Scholarships for Tunstall High School &
- Dan River High School Students
- Dictionaries for Third Graders
- Care Packages for Deployed Soldiers
- Feeding the hungry

Want to get involved with Rotary?
Becoming a member enables you to interact with other
community’s leaders and to make an impact both here
and around the world. Our members have found that
being a Rotarian is truly a rewarding experience.
"I am a Rotarian because I see the potential to do good
in this community and in the world through service. I
am part of an organization that will eradicate polio,
construct wells, build parks, and support literacy. Those
verbs mean action!"
Dr. Julie Brown - Institute for
Advanced Learning & Research
Club member, Past President
