Join us Labor Day weekend for the Calarat Challenge Trail Running Festival. This is a 1/2M, 10K, 5K and Kids 1K trail race that starts and finishes at the Cal-Wood Education Center. It's run on a number of different trails throughout the beautiful private properties of Cal-Wood and Balarat Outdoor Education Center.
The Calarat Challenge Trail Running Festival is a promotion of health, fun and fitness to support the Cal-Wood Education Center, a 501 (c) 3 not-for-profit organization. Cal-Wood provides outdoor experiences, specifically outreaching to low-income and minority groups and race proceeds will allow Cal-wood to increase access to outdoor education experiences and life transforming opportunities for youth and low-income families.
We have lodging for the night before the race, as well as a great dinner prepared. You can then roll out of bed to the start line, and after the race, celebrate your accomplishment with your family, friends, and fellow participants at our after race party. We will have food, beer, and music, so come on up and enjoy everything Cal-wood has to offer.
If you are a parent participating in the Calarat Challenge Trail Running Festival, and you cannot find a babysitter for your 5 - 10 year old, then consider our Kid Adventure Time Program on the morning of the race. Chip, our Cal-wood Instructor, will provide and supervise outdoor activities from 7:30am - 10:30am, so that you can enjoy your race!
