Event Description

Join us at the beautiful and scenic Summersville Lake for the Nicholas County Sheriff's Association 5K on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at 9 am. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Association's Scholarship Fund.

The Nicholas County Deputy Sheriff's Association proudly presents this inaugural NCDSA 5K on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at the beautiful Summersville Lake. This historic event is dedicated to one of the original Founders' Day organizers Tim C. Walker who also served as mayor from (2011-2013) before his term was cut short by his untimely death on June 14, 2013. 

Registration

Registration is $25 per runner, and each registered runner will receive a FREE Race T-shirt if registered by our t-shirt deadline (due to printing deadlines, the deadline for the shirt is April 21, 2023)

Kids 10 and under run FREE, but t-shirts are not included. If interested in the race day shirt please register as a regular runner.

Packet Pickup

Packet pickup will be race morning beginning at 8am at Summersville Lake. The race will begin at 9am.

The out-and-back course will remain inside the Summersville Lake Property. There will be a water stop at the 1.5-mile turnaround point. Bathrooms will be open for the runners near the start/finish line.

This race is a fundraiser for the Nicholas County Deputy Sheriff's Association Scholarship Fund.

Awards

The Top 3 Overall Male & Female Runners will receive an award. We will also award the Top Male & Female Runners in each of these age categories with a special award  (13-19), (20-29), (30-39), (40-49), (50-59), (60-69) (70 and over)
