Triathlon has come back to Midland!

Midland Athletic Company is proud to bring back this acclaimed event as part of the Permian Athletic Event Series! We have even added a post- race FAMILY SWIM PARTY! 

Rock the Rind is a SPRINT DISTANCE triathlon with a 500 meter swim, 11 mile bike and 3.1 mile run. This event begins at COM Aquatics with the transition area being in the west parking lot. Individual and relay options are both available. 

As part of The Permian Athletic Event Series we are happy to host an event that provides a unique opportunity for individuals to challenge themselves while creating comradery with others. We believe movement, relationships and the outdoors are essential pillars of health and this event is a bullseye for all three! Bring your friends, family, and/or co- workers for this fun filled event!

Relay Registration:

Registering for the relay will be the same as forming a team. During registration you will be REQUIRED to either join an EXISTING group or create a NEW group. IF you create a NEW group you will create a GROUP PASSWORD to share with other group members.

Groups are required to have 2-3 participants. For a 2 person group, one participant will complete 2 events. For a 3 person group, each participant will complete 1 event.

The CAPTAIN of each team will be responsible for paying the entire race entry FEE. Once the fee is PAID, and the group is formed, other participants MUST sign themselves up under the team as well. This is REQUIRED to sign waivers and designate relay leg. There will be no associated cost or fees aside from the CAPTAIN signing up the team.

Race Day Schedule:

🍉  Packet Pick Up                          6:45am - 7:45am  

🍉  Triathlon begins                         8:00am

🍉 Post Race Family Swim Party    10:00am- 12:00pm

Location: COM AQUATICS, 3003 N A Steet, Midland, TX 79705

Route: The 500 meter swim is a long course, snake swim through the main pool in the FMH Foundation Natatorium. Participants will enter T1 transition in the West parking lot and head north bound on A Street and Big Spring to access Loop 250. The bike course will be an out and back option via service roads. After T2 transition the participant begin the run through Windlands Park to North I Street. The run course will feature an out and back option as well.

Hydration: Water at the transition areas! In addition, there will be (1) water station on the 5k run course.

Volunteer Information: 

We cannot throw these races without you! Volunteering provides an opportunity to serve participants at aid stations, on the course with directions/support, with post race food and drinks, etc. Need community service hours? We are happy to accommodate you!
